The Dodge Phoenix is an automobile which was produced by Chrysler Australia from 1960 to 1973.

The Phoenix was introduced in May 1960 as an Australian assembled version [2] of the American Dodge Dart,[3] positioned above the locally developed Chrysler Royal as Chrysler Australia’s luxury model. It borrowed its name from the top Dart, the Dodge Dart Phoenix, but unlike its American namesake it was offered only as a four-door sedan and only with a 318 cubic inch V8 engine.

The Phoenix was subsequently restyled in line with the 1961 and 1962 Dodge Dart. For 1963 the new TD2 series Phoenix was derived from the US Dodge 440, and for 1965 and beyond the Phoenix was based on the Canadian Plymouth Fury III. Like the 1965 Fury, the 1965 Phoenix featured vertically stacked headlamps.

A four-door hardtop body style joined the sedan in 1967. The hardtop was fitted with a 383 cubic inch V8 engine whilst the sedan continued with the smaller 318 cubic inch V8.[4] The two body styles continued to be offered until the final Australian Phoenix was built in 1973.
Although the 1965 and later Phoenixes were basically Furys, they did feature the North American style full size Dodge Polara instrument panel (adapted for right hand drive). They also continued to use the old-fashioned "clapper" windshield wipers (while North American models used modern parallel-action wipers).

The Australian developed Chrysler by Chrysler then inherited the role of the top level luxury model in Chrysler’s Australian range.
This my baby - 1960 Dodge Phoenix 4-door sedan has 77,297K miles on the original engine, runs and drives very good, new original design interior, new original color paint, metallic tan and white exterior, tan interior, tail fins, automatic, power steering, push button transmission, and is a daily driver. Very few (17,000) made. Air does not work. I listed here http://oldcarraffles.com/sale/Dodge/14373

The ’60 and ’61 Dodge Dart Phonenix, Pioneer, and Seneca always caught my eye as a kid growing up in the 60′s. For some reason, of all of Chryslers wild styling of the time, I liked these the best. Nowdays I like them all.

I think some folks did look ahead in time and say, ” some day, this will be a collectors item”. Whether that was the case with this car, who knows?. It could just be an example that was well taken care of and it survived. I’m glad someone had the foresight to keep this car around.

This Phoenix is a 4 door hardtop which is rare for the Dodge Phoenix. The interior has been reupholstered in thicker red and black vinyl. You will notice what sets this car apart with the oddities of the push button transmission and the transparent dashboard. On the outside a fresh red coat of paint has been applied to the the exterior making this is car really shine off its classic appeal. As you view the car pay close attention to the features on the roof of the car in the back.

With a fully rebuilt carb, this Phoenix starts and runs great. During restoration of the paint job you will notice the condition of the hood has 3 bubbles as you can see in the pictures and needs further attention in restoration. This Phoenix needs some attention and is ready to cruise.

Overall this is a classy 1960's Dodge Phoenix that is sure to grab a lot of attention while cruising and fun to drive with a lot of power to hot rod anywhere. Comes with owner manual, car brochure and trunk full of spare parts, car covers, and trim for the car.
